About Me
Long ago, there were two nations, the humans and the crabs. Each stood at the apex of Earthly civilization. For eons they had been locked in a bitter struggle, with the humans raining destruction upon every corner of the crab kingdoms. All seemed lost. Until one day, a glowing babe descended upon the crabs, seemingly as a gift from the heavens. The Crab Mother decreed that this one would be the chosen one; destined to bring peace between crab-kind and human-kind. And so she sent him to the land of the humans, where he washed up on the shores of Milford, Connecticut and would be discovered and adopted by his “real” parents --who still insist that “Crab Moses” would somehow have been a more preferable choice of career path than “artist”--.
Matt Bader is a writer and actor famous for simultaneously having no free time and yet somehow, way too much of it. He has performed and trained all over the world from New York, to London, to Toga-mura Japan as a student of Tadashi Suzuki. Performance highlights include his work for Connecticut Repertory Theatre’s The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Deputy) which had Critics on the Aisle calling him “A joy to watch.” And his work on the YouTube series Pee Pee Touchers had viewers everywhere saying, “Better than Die Hard,” “a gift from the gods,” “probably the best thing I’ve ever seen,” and so much more.
During the pandemic, he launched his own YouTube channel and created a series of one man short films including The Epic of Cap’n Crunch (Cap’n Crunch). He’s most proud of his online variety show “All the World’s a Stage” which he devised, hosted, and edited in order to raise money for actors who lost their jobs due to COVID.
Right now he’s directing and acting in a space odyssey he wrote entitled “Journey from the Sun” This would normally be too much for one man, but he is a genius, just like his idol, Tommy Wiseau, so the show will be great and nothing could possibly go wrong. You should absolutely check it out. It’s only the second ever UConn produced show written by a current student and the first show ever to be performed in UConn’s Greek Amphitheatre. Seriously, what are you still doing reading this? Go learn about it under the Scripts page. Or he will call once more upon The Crab Mother, and she will not be pleased...
